So here it is folks, E Deck. I have slaved, laughed, cried, screamed, smiled and ate sticky pudding with this one. E Deck is where everything about the NX-01 converges together. This is where her heart is. And from my point of view, she seems to go on forever… near far… wherever you are… her heart will go on… Ooops. Sorry. Someone get a shovel. My exhausted and over-taxed brain needs someone to hit the reset button. And you would think, after nearly a decade, that chest-thumping Celine would just let that bloody boat sink already.

First off, this is not a post about a completed deck so please don’t get excited. I just wanted to stop in and give a quick update on my progress with E Deck. I am building as fast I can.

Well here it is, D Deck in all her glory. Let me tell you, this one was complicated. There is so much going on here that I had to check and recheck everything to make sure it all lined up and jived with the C and D Decks. Needless to say this version is a thousand times better than the previous version. I also made more than few changes to the forward sections so I could get the corridors cleaned up. With the corridors worked out/added to, the crew quarters all fell into place much better. I also cleaned up the cargo bay areas and added a second open level to the second stage plasma accelerator bays. I am very pleased with how she turned out. Anyway, here she is.

Let me tell you, I am on a roll right now. I haven’t been this into my deck plans in two years! I am not complaining though. I am just enjoying myself immensely. And after so many starts, stops, mistakes, near misses, boredom, burn-outs, disasters, calculation errors and skittish computers, things are finally falling together nicely. And to that end, today I bring you the new plan for C Deck.

Guess what. I have been busy. Things have been slow work-wise so I have thrown myself back into the project with a vengeance. Are you excited? You should be because I have finished work on B Deck. I now have A and B complete… finally. After talking about it for over a year, I actually have some to show for it.

Over the last couple of years I have gotten tons and tons of emails about my deck plans from people scattered all across the globe. Most have been very kind complimentary with a few verbally shredding it. (And a couple have been so scathing and abusive that I wanted to wash the sender’s mouth out with soap.) But I have enjoyed every single one I have received (okay… maybe not the really foul ones). I think opinions are a wonderful thing. They help to see the good and the bad of something. And seeing a project from someone else’s eyes brings new views to something you have become jaded or myopic about.
But most of the emails I receive are from people who have questions. Unfortunately I have a full schedule and a personal life to attend to so most of the time I never get around to answering them. Sometimes you just can’t do it all and keep your sanity. So I am drafting this blog post to answer some of my most asked questions. I am also opening up the floor for new ones. I am all yours! Ask away!

I just wanted to give everyone a quick look at what I have been working on over the past few months. The bits that I am showing are some of the salvageable pieces from the junked deck plans. Right now I am reorganizing the Launch Bay area to fit into the new hull outline so I might have something more to show very soon.

Well… I have done it now. So many people are going to be really pissed off at me it is not even funny. I can only imagine the eventual spanking I am going to receive on this. Fans will be showing up on my door step with torches and pitchforks. And the worst part is I don’t have a windmill to escape too. Part of me is scared to make this post. Another part of me is excited because I have better information to share with the world. Whatever the ramifications are, the truth is this… I am in the process of destroying my version of the NX-01.
