The Enterprise NX-01 is not real. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that fact because, when I close my eyes, I can see her and feel her. I know her rivets and her corridors. I can hear the engines thrum and the life support whir in the ducts. I can smell her paint and blue carpeting. In my mind’s eye she exists. But even if it is all a fantasy, like a cardboard ocean moving under a canvas sky, she is real because I believe in her.

Robert Blackman is one of the unsung heroes of modern Trek. His contribution to the Star Trek Universe will be lasting and enduring. But despite his amazing talent and numerous awards, he is tragically unknown to many fans, even though his work is some of the easiest to recognize from the franchise. Who is he? Mr. Blackman is the costume designer.

Let me be honest. This latest schematic almost didn’t make it past the planning stages. Some of the schematics have been tough to pull off but this one was especially difficult. I am not a member of the production team and do not have access to the super secret vault of awesome Trek information. I just have my DVD’s and what I can find on the internet. I am at the mercy of the information I have available, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
I was clearing out some old files on my blogs this morning and realized I haven’t made a post here in a while. That wasn’t intentional. I get busy and forget about things sometimes. And believe me when I say I have been busy. December and January have been rigorous. I don’t really know how February got here so fast.

Remember back in June when I said I would be finished with this project by August? It was a goal I had hoped to keep but the Universe had other ideas. But here I am, with winter almost upon us, and I am finally posting the schematic I was most looking forward to creating, the EV Suits. I guess it is better to be a little late then never. I would like to introduce the Medical Equipment Schematic… and doing so feels a little sad. You see kids this is the last of the prop schematics. I have finished all the bits and bobs I wanted to render and it feels rather weird knowing that they are all complete. I don’t know if I should have a party or call the undertaker.

Wow. I just now looked at my last post here and I am shocked. It has been two months! Where does the time go? One minute it was June and then it was October. But I have been crazy busy though. I know I keep using that excuse but I swear it is the honest truth. Working two jobs and attempting to keep a personal life intact will certainly burn up the waking hours. And things end up falling to the wayside, even when you don’t mean for them too.
But after two months of real life getting in the way, I finally found some time to finally get back to the project a couple of weeks ago. And here I am, back with an update. This time we have crew equipment to look at.

Well here I am again with another update and this time it is on our beloved team of MACO’s. I know it has been a little while since I posted something but “real life” keeps busting in on me demanding more and more attention. And if that attention means a paycheck and a way to put my life back in some semblance of order after “the flood”, this project can wait a few days. I know that some of you would rather I keep feeding you more NX-01 goodness but doesn’t absence make the heart grow fonder… or something like that.

This week I am bringing you a schematic of Starfleet’s Weapon Arsenal. We have the Phase Pistol, Pulse Rifle, EM-33 and the Stun Grenade. Continue reading

And last but not least, we have G Deck. I guess I should be happy about posting this. The decks are complete, which is what I wanted. But I feel a little sad since this means I am even closer to closing a four year chapter of my life. It has been exhausting. It has be arduous. It has been fun. Anyway…
